On a recent road trip, we spent a night in the Badlands, near Rapid City, SD, hoping to catch light and shadows on the incredible rock formations at both sunset and sunrise. Arriving in the middle of a thunderstorm dashed all hopes of evening shadows, but the following morning delivered on wonderful sunrise views - a good morning in the "Badlands."
